ECOC
The ECOC Exhibition, the largest European optical communications event, is a key meeting place for those within the fibre optic communication technology industry.
This year the event comes to London, taking place at the ICC London ExCeL from 23 – 25 September and will once again provide an unrivalled opportunity for manufacturers, suppliers and service providers of optical communications products and services to come together to meet and network with top decision makers from across the industry. 400GbE Optics and Applications – This Ethernet Alliance panel will discuss the latest developments in 400 Gigabit Ethernet (400GbE) optics and the applications where it will be used.  With applications and Ethernet topologies growing exponentially, the optics community needs to deliver 400GbE optics at a low cost/bit.  The panel will debate if the first generation of 400GbE will be based on 4X100GbE (16X25 Gb/s) technology or faster and narrower 8X50Gb/s technology.  This decision will have huge implications for the availability and cost of the solutions.Â

Integrated Photonics: Game Changer or Just Another Tool?  – This Ethernet Alliance panel will look at one of the hottest topics in fiber optic technology – integrated photonics!  The panel will first define what integrated photonics is and isn’t and then show how it is applied in optical implementations.  Will integrated photonics change the optics game in the next few years or will it provide modest improvements over existing technologies that don’t require extensive investments to manufacture?
