Who We Are

Leadership

The Ethernet Alliance is a global, non-profit, industry consortium of member organizations that are dedicated to the continued success and advancement of Ethernet technologies.

Our members include system and component vendors, industry experts, and university and government professionals. Ethernet Alliance members work together to take Ethernet standards to the marketplace. They support and originate activities that span from incubation of new Ethernet technologies to interoperability testing to demonstrations to education.

Ideas, Innovation, Information

The rapid increase in demand for bandwidth is pushing Ethernet technology innovation faster than ever before. The Ethernet Alliance serves as the premier global repository for all things Ethernet to help keep everyone with an interest in Ethernet aware of  advancement and innovation on an ongoing basis.

To help advance the industry as a whole, the Ethernet Alliance also provides the industry with a forum for the open exchange of ideas and dialogue, and with a platform for consensus building. We follow strict impartiality guidelines to encourage productive discourse and idea sharing. This in turn increases growth, advancement and adoption of Ethernet technology around the world.

Objectives & Goals

The Ethernet Alliance operates as a marketing organization for IEEE standards. Our marketing efforts are driven by three objectives:

  • Expanding the Ethernet ecosystem
  • Supporting Ethernet development through standards
  • Promoting Ethernet in both existing and emerging markets

To achieve these objectives, the Ethernet Alliance pursues both short- and long-term goals. In the short-term, we are positioning the Ethernet Alliance as the leading source of information about Ethernet initiatives and IEEE Standards. In addition, we also are proactively distributing information to our members and the industry at large.

Our long-term goals include encouraging and facilitating the expansion of standards-based Ethernet into new applications and markets worldwide. And, as we continue to serve the technological needs of our core members, we also are striving to share more information about Ethernet with end users to increase their understanding of the technology’s many different capabilities.

Advancing Ethernet

The Ethernet Alliance engages our network of Ethernet Alliance members to promote Ethernet through multiple methods.  The alliance has a system in place to promote Ethernet related activities through press releases, blogs, white papers, webinars, contributed articles, newsletters and speaking opportunities.  Social media outlets including LinkedIn, Twitter, and YouTube are used to promote Ethernet related events and technologies.
