Parantap is currently responsible for the network technology behind Microsoft Online Services which includes services like MS Bing, Windows Azure, Hotmail, Messenger, Hosted Enterprise solutions etc.. Parantap drives the development and evolution of the network architecture and platform standards for the datacenters, backbone networks as well as the CDN infrastructure.
Early in his career Parantap worked on building the network for VSNL, India’s first commercial ISP, and later worked multiple years for UUNet as a network engineering manager before joining Microsoft. Parantap specializes in IP routing, datacenter switching, MPLS based traffic engineering, inter-ISP peering, MPLS based VPN services and Server Load-Balancing etc. Parantap has co-authored one IETF RFC and has nine pending patents with one already awarded. Parantap is a Juniper Network Certified Internet Expert (JNCIE #112) with a bachelor degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
