Greg McSorley, Amphenol
Greg McSorley is a Technical Business Development manager at Amphenol Corp., responsible for driving standards development at Amphenol’s TCS and GIS divisions. In this role Greg is involved in many of the industry standards and associations in the server / storage market place, including INCITS T10, T11, SFF, IBTA, OIF and GbEthernet. Prior to Amphenol, Greg spent many years at Data General and EMC as a senior design engineer. He was involved in designing and testing systems for EMI integrity, and high speed interconnects. Greg also handled EMC’s server / storage standards for many years.
With over 30 years experience in the industry, Greg takes an active role in many of the trade associations related to the standards organizations. Greg is Treasurer on the Board of Directors for the Fibre Channel Industry Association, Vice President of the SCSI Trade Association and Chair of the Ethernet Alliance High Speed Modular sub-committee.
Mark Nowell, Cisco
Mark Nowell is a Senior Director of Engineering in Cisco’s Data Center team. His focus is on next generation network architecture, interconnect strategy and driving technology innovation to meet Cisco’s needs. Mark is also active within the industry standards and forums and is currently chair of the IEEE 802.3 25 Gb/s Ethernet Task Force and previously chair of the IEEE 802.3bg project on 40 Gb/s single-mode fiber PMD. He is past chair of the Ethernet Alliance’s High Speed Ethernet (40GbE/100GbE) Technical committee and current chair of their 400GbE Technical committee. Before Cisco, Mark previously worked at Hewlett-Packard Research Labs.
Mark earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees at Queen’s University in Kingston, Canada, and his Ph.D. at Cambridge University in Cambridge, UK.
Rob Stone, Broadcom
Rob Stone is a Distinguished Engineer within Broadcom’s Switch Architecture Team, with a focus on datacenter interconnects, protocol and port design. His is an active participant in a number of industry organizations, including 802.3, COBO and other module MSAs and chaired the RCx MSA, and the 25G Ethernet technical working group. Rob has over 18 years of industry experience bringing communications technologies to market,He has held both technical and managerial positions at Intel, Infinera, Emcore, Skorpios and Bandwidth 9. Rob earned his BSc from Sheffield University, and holds a D.Phil. in Physics from The University of Oxford.
Dave Chalupsky, Intel
David Chalupsky is a Product Architect for Intel’s Network Division. With Intel since 1988, Dave has held a variety of hardware development and engineering management roles which began with single board industrial computer design. In 1992 he developed his first 10BASE-T repeater product and has been in the Ethernet business ever since, holding roles in board development, ASIC design, applications, and validation. During his tenure at Intel he has been on the leading edge of Ethernet transitions, from 10Mbit to 10Gbit Ethernet products. Dave made key contributions to bringing Wake on LAN management functionality to 100Mbit Ethernet NICs, bringing 1000BASE-T connectivity to the PC motherboard, and 10GbE to the Server in both SFP+ and BASE-T forms. An active contributor to the advancement of the Ethernet ecosystem, Dave currently chairs three BASE-T-related standards development projects in IEEE 802.3 as well as the BASE-T subcommittee of the Ethernet Alliance. Dave holds a BS in Computer Engineering from California State University, Chico, a Masters in EE/CE from Portland State University, and eight U.S. patents
Jeffery Maki, Juniper
Dr. Jeffery J. Maki is a Distinguished Engineer II at Juniper Networks working on cloud optics. He is a member of the board of directors of the Ethernet Alliance and an IEEE 802.3 Ethernet voter. In the OIF, he is PLUG Working Group Chairman and technical voter for Juniper Networks. For the Consortium for On-Board Optics (COBO), he is Vice President and Data Center Networking Working Group chairman. He is chairman of the 4WDM MSA Group, co-chairman of the 100G Lambda MSA Group and a participant in the QSFP-DD and SFP-DD MSA groups. He is an OSA and IEEE member. He has a Ph.D. in Optics from The Institute of Optics, University of Rochester, Rochester, New York.
David Rodgers, Teledyne Lecroy
David is Senior Product Marketing Manager with Teledyne LeCroy, where he has focused on defining, designing, deploying, and marketing a broad range of high-speed serial analysis test and measurement products for Ethernet and Fibre Channel SANs and LANs.
He has almost 30 years of computer industry experience. He represents Teledyne LeCroy Test and Measurement solutions in various protocol industry standards groups, including currently the Ethernet Alliance, FCIA, the PCI and NVMe SIGs and started out in the T&M space as an original member of the USB Implementers Forum and one of the first marketers of USB protocol analyzers.
Jim Theodoras, HG Genuine
Jim Theodoras is an experienced optical communication professional. He has a proven history of creating new revenue streams through a combination of creativity, market analysis, customer interaction, cross-functional teamwork, and follow through. He has over 30 years of industry experience in electronics and optics, spanning a wide range of diverse topics. Jim is a past President of the Ethernet Alliance and past optical liaison editor for IEEE Communications Magazine. He holds 20 patents in the field of telecommunications, and is a frequent contributor to industry publications.
Nathan Tracy, TE Connectivity
Nathan Tracy is a Technologist on the system architecture team and manager of industry standards for TE Connectivity’s Data and Devices business unit, where he is responsible for driving standards activities and working with key customers to enable new system architectures. Nathan has more than 30 years of experience in technology development, marketing, and business development for TE in areas including RF/microwave, and high speed signaling technology for the networking, telecom, wireless, automotive and defense markets.
Nathan is active in a number of industry standards and associations. He currently serves the OIF as president and member of the board of directors, is a regular attendee and contributor to the Ethernet Alliance, IEEE 802.3 and COBO. Additionally, he is active in a number of industry MSAs and forums where he has held leadership roles.
Nathan earned his Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering Technology degree from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

George Zimmerman, CME Consulting
George Zimmerman is an independent consultant, specializing in physical layer communications technology. Dr. Zimmerman’s technical interests focus on communications and signal processing near the fundamental limits and energy efficiency at the PHY and system levels. He is currently active in the IEEE 802.3 working group, currently the editor for the IEEE P802.3bq 25/40GBASE-T and IEEE P802.3bz 2.5G/5GBASE-T projects, as well as active in the IEEE P8023.bt 4 Pair Power over Ethernet Task Force and various other 802.3 projects. He has been a defining force in the development of multiple Ethernet technologies, including 10GBASE-T, Energy Efficient Ethernet, as well as various DSL (now EFM) technologies. George holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Caltech, and an undergraduate degree from Stanford University. He founded Solarflare Communications and was most recently CTO of its PHY group (currently Marvell), and holds more than a dozen patents related to efficient implementations of high-speed Ethernet technology. As a consultant, his clients include networking systems, cabling infrastructure, and physical-layer silicon companies.
